Funeral services for longtime Lamar resident, Zella M. Castle-Blackburn will be held Saturday, September 13, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the Peacock Family Chapel. Ian Blacker of the Lamar Christian Church will be officiating. Interment will follow at the
Fairmount
Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday, September 12, 2008 at the Peacock Chapel.
Zella was born on December 25, 1915 at Gage, Oklahoma to Russell I. and Mary A. (Nine) Mills and passed away on September 9, 2008 at the
Juniper
Village at Lamar. She was 92.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, David D. Castle who passed away in June 8, 1990; her second husband George Blackburn, who passed away October 13, 2007, a son Jesse L. Castle who passed away in September 1, 1997; grandson Randy Castle, and granddaughter Bobbi Lee Castle. She is also preceded by her great-grandchildren Taylor Castle and Christopher Stephens.
Zella is survived by her children; Emma Jean (Frank) Sauer of San Pedro, California, Bonnie (
Everett) Smith of Lamar, and Andy (Melba) Castle also of Lamar. She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren,16 great-great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Lamar Christian Church direct or in care of the funeral home office.
