A memorial service for longtime Lamar resident, William D. “Bill” Lenox, Sr. was held at 1:00PM, Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the Lamar Christian Church with Ian Blacker officiating.
Per Bill’s request, cremation has taken place and there will be no public visitation.
Bill was born on June 4, 1931 at home north of Roscoe, Texas to Author Luther Lenox and Eula May (Martin) Lenox and departed this life on Saturday October 25, 2014 at Prowers Medical Center in Lamar at the age of 83.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; by one daughter – Belva Colleen Lenox, two grandsons; Roger Dale Moore, Jr. and Warren Asa Carter and by six siblings.
Bill Lenox is survived by six children – RoxAnn Carter of Lamar; Kathy (Terry) Loveland of Lamar; Ruth Moore of Granada; William D. Lenox, Jr. of Lamar; Jan Wells of Lamar; and Connie (Scott) Stone of Evans, CO; by 17 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren; also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and a host of friends.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the William D. Lenox, Sr. Memorial Fund in care of the Peacock Funeral Home.
