A funeral service for longtime Lamar resident, Willie M. Wilkerson, was held at 1:00 PM Wednesday March 2, 2016 at the Peacock Family Chapel in Lamar with Pastor Rick Beard officiating. Burial followed in the Fairmount Cemetery.
Visitation for Willie was held from 9:00 AM to service time on Wednesday March 2, 2016 at the Peacock Family Chapel in Lamar.
Willie M. Wilkerson was born on December 19, 1939 in Ashville, NC to Samuel and Francis (Knight) Grooms and departed this life on Friday February 26, 2016 at the Prowers Medical Center in Lamar at the age of 76.
Willie was preceded in death by her parents and by one son – Duane Headley, Jr..
Willie M. Wilkerson is survived by two children – Marla (Duane) Heishman of Denver and Dean (Theresa) Headley of Burlington, CO; by nine grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and by one brother – Jake Headley of Chillicothe, MO as well as by numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to a charity of one’s choice either directly or through the funeral home office.
