A celebration of life memorial service for Lamar resident, Wendy B. Allen, will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday November 1, 2018 at the Peacock Family Chapel with Pastor Jerry Ellis of the First Southern Baptist Church officiating the service. Burial will follow in the Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar.
Per Wendy’s request cremation has taken place and there will be no public visitation.
Wendy was born on August 29, 1939 in Bournemouth, England to George Love and Lillian McCarthy-Love and departed this life on Friday October 26, 2018 at the Bent County Memorial Nursing Home at the age of 79.
Wendy was preceded in death by her father-George Love, her adoptive father-Fred Allen; her mother-Lillian Sandberg; step dad-Cleo Sandberg; by two sons-Kevin and Kenny Patrick as well as by two sisters-Vi Simpson and Jackie Love.
Wendy is survived by two children – Dan (Mary) Patrick of West Fork, AR; and Debbie (Dwayne) Dechant of Lamar; by three grandchildren – Megan (Tyler) Thrall of Granada; Tyler Harris of Chivington; and Kato Patrick of West Fork, AR; by one great granddaughter – Brecken Thrall; and by one sister – Maureen (Richard) Elliott of Murphys, CA; as well as numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Prowers Medical Center Foundation either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
