A Graveside Service for longtime Lamar resident, Wayne Hays was held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Fairmount Cemetery with Reverend Kathy Leathers of the Holly United Methodist Church officiating.
Visitation for Mr. Hays was held on Monday, April 14, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Peacock Funeral Home.
Wayne was born on January 19, 1928 at Wiley, Colorado to Clarence Arthur and Merle G. (Brown) Hays and passed away at his home in Lamar on April 9, 2014 at the age of 86 with his family by his side.
Wayne is preceded in death by his wife; Millie Hays and his parents.
He is survived by his children Sheila (Lyle) Williams of Watonga, OK, Sharla (Jon) Montoya and Gregory Hays all of Lamar. Also surviving are his grandchildren; Adam, Anna, Andrea (Joey), Joshua, Tyann (Emerson) and Christopher (Mandi), great grandchildren; Kaitlyn, Kolby, Kayle, Emalee, Kohlston, Gabryela, Lucas, Colton and Cassidy as well as his brother; Ray (Nadene) Hays and his sister; Lorella (Paul) Gadash all of Lamar. Numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends also survive.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Lamar Area Hospice or to the charity of one’s choice either direct or in care of the Peacock Funeral Home.
