Victoria “Vickie” Abitia
A memorial service for longtime Lamar resident, Vickie Abitia, will be held at 10:00 AM Friday August 19, 2016 at the St. Francis de Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Reverend Mariusz Wirkowski as celebrant.
A rosary service will be held at 9:30 AM on Friday August 19 also at the Church.
Per Vickie’s request there will be no public visitation as cremation has taken place.
Victoria Abitia known by her friends as Vickie was born on November 8, 1936 in Holly, Colorado to Marcial Ortiz and Rosario Pichardo and departed this life on Sunday August 14, 2016 at her home in Lamar with her family by her side at the age of 79.
Vickie was preceded in death by her parents; by an infant son – Jason Lance Abitia and by her sister – Connie Anderson.
Vickie is survived by three sons – Mark Abitia of Lamar; Adam Abitia of Denver; and Jason Abitia also of Denver; by five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; as well as by her siblings – John (Lillian) Ortiz of Denver; Roger (Glenna) Ortiz of Wadsworth, Ohio; Cecilia Ortiz of Denver; Louise Galloway of Bethany, MO and Marcial (Madeline) Ortiz of Greeley; and by many friends.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the St. Francis de Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church or to the Catholic Daughters Society.
