A Rosary Service for longtime Lamar resident, Valentin Torres was held on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at the Peacock Family Chapel with Deacon Allan Medina reciting.
Valentin was born on May 21, 1935 at Los Coyotes, Texas to Encarnacion and Eulalia (Layton) Torres and passed away on April 21, 2013 at Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo at the age of 77.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Encarnacion Torres, George Torres, Pablo Torres and Lorenzo Torres and sisters; Rosa Flores and Isabel Gonzales.
Valentin is survived by his children; Lucian Torres, Bobby Torres both of Lamar, Veronica Torres of Florence, OR, Barbara (Benjamin) Gonzales of Garden City, KS and Linda Torres of Denver, CO. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren and thirty three great-grandchildren as well as numerous other family and a host of friends.
