Val Rasmussen
A memorial service for longtime Lamar resident, Valeta Bertha Rasmussen, affectionately known as Val to her family and friends was held at 2:00PM on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the Grace Lutheran Church with Reverend Harold Baldwin officiating. Inurnment followed at Fairmount Cemetery in the Veteran’s Section.
Per Val’s request cremation took place and there was no visitation.
Val was born on March 18, 1924 at Lorton, Nebraska to Henry G. and Bertha (Mitzner) Seba and passed away on June 21, 2014 at Prowers Medical Center at the age of 90.
She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings; Valdo Seba, Don Seba, Bertha Kuck, daughter; Anita Ackman and granddaughter; Christy Young.
Val is survived by her husband of 69 years; Milford Rasmussen of the family home in Lamar, two daughters; Mary Ann (Gary) Merritt of Ft. Lupton, CO and Deborah Montgomery of Whitehall, IL, two sons; Daniel Rasmussen and David (Robin) Rasmussen both of Lamar, eight grandchildren; Janita (Jeremy) Rupp, Warren (Audrey) Borders, Trent (Jodi) Merritt, Cindi (Greg) Smith, Brandy (Ryan Vollmer) Thornton, Ian (Shannon Lee) Ackman, Jennifer (Eric) DeFoe, Jonathan (Sarah) Rasmussen, son-in-law; John Ackman of Colorado Springs, CO, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters; Viola Jordan of Springfield, OR and Donna (Carl) Murphy of Hulbert, OK, brothers; Gary (Ann) Seba of Lubbock, TX, Jim (Eleanor) Seba of Syracuse, KS and Norman Seba of Kansas City, KS, sister-in-law; Margaret Seba of Bela Vista, AR, brother-in-law; Lloyd Kuck of Caldwell, ID as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church Endowment Fund either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
