Anton (Tony) Fredrick Dreiling
October 27, 1920 to January 9, 2014
Longtime resident of Holly, Colorado Tony Dreiling age 93 passed away in his son’s (Tim Dreiling) home, Udall, KS January 9, 2014. His wife Nelsoline, precedes Tony in death, November 4, 2002. Tony and Nelsoline were married for 57 years. Tony is also preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Christine Dreiling, 5 sisters and 1 brother. Until diagnosed with lung cancer in September of 2012 he was healthy and quite active with family and travel.
Tony was born and raised in the farming community of Walker, KS. During WWII Tony served in the Army as a combat engineer stationed at Attu in the Aleutian Islands from 1942-1945. Two weeks after his return from Attu, he and Nelsoline were married on February 6, 1945. Tony has seven surviving children with spouses. Tonya and Gary Dupree, Winfield, Ks, Tana and Jim Stadjuhar, Omaha, NE, Arthur and Barbara Dreiling, Holly, Co, Steve and Fran Dreiling, Gig Harbor, WA, Tim and Susan Dreiling, Udall, KS, Rick and Rhonda Dreiling, Ft. Collins, Co, Greg and Michelle Dreiling, Port Orchard, WA. He was the grandfather of 19 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Tony worked in the oil fields in Ellinwood, KS for nine years. During his off time, he built his first drilling rig. In 1954, the family moved to Johnson, KS. where Tony and Nelsoline started their drilling business “Dreiling Drilling Co.” In 1957 Tony and Nelsoline moved their family to Holly, Colorado where they would reside, build their business and raise their family for upwards of 50 years.
Funeral services are as follows: Wednesday, January 15, Rosary 9:30 a.m. at St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church, Holly, CO. immediately followed by a mass, 10:00 a.m. Tony will be buried beside Nelsoline and their infant son, Thomas Richard (March 5, 1948) in the Holly Cemetery.
Visitation for Tony will be held from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM Wednesday January 15, 2014 at St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church in Holly.
What can be said of a man that worked hard all his life, raised a large family with lots of grandchildren except we will miss you dad and we are thankful that one day ALL of us will be joined together with you in the heavens with the King of kings and Lord of lords.
