Sadie M. Boettcher
A Service of Celebration for longtime McClave resident, Sadie M. Boettcher was held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at the McClave United Methodist Church. Reverend T.L. Phillips officiated the service.
On Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 2:00 PM, the Boettcher family gathered at the Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville, Oklahoma for the graveside committal services conducted by Reverend William Thomas of the United Methodist Church.
Visitation for Sadie was held Monday from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the Peacock Funeral Home and prior to the church services on Tuesday.
Mrs. Boettcher was born on September 26, 1914 at Clinton, Missouri to James Paul and Emma Josephine (Burton) Martin and passed away at the age of 97 on December 31, 2011 at the Weisbrod Memorial County Nursing Home in Eads, Colorado where she has lived the last 3 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband Lee G. Boettcher on November 27, 1995, parents, her daughter Lena Jo “Tootie” Morgan and her grandson Shane Morgan as well as three brothers and five sisters.
Sadie is survived by her son Paul “Buddy” (Carla) Boettcher of Oro Valley, AZ, son-in-law Ted Morgan, Jr. of McClave, CO and her sister Ruth Pavey of Fairbanks, Alaska. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren as well as other relatives and many friends.
Sadie moved to Collinsville, OK as a young child. In addition to helping raise and nurture her siblings, she attended schools in Collinsville and during her senior year in high school she met and married the love of her life. Lee and Sadie were married on February 25, 1933 in Claremore, Oklahoma and enjoyed 62 years of marriage together. In addition to being a good friend, loving and kind mother, and a devoted wife, she was involved in numerous other activities. During her McClave years she was 4-H leader, active in Eastern Star, school bus driver, volunteer at the Lamar Welcome Center and along with her husband, owned and operated a grocery store to name a few. She will be sadly missed, but we know she is experiencing a joyous reunion with her loved ones and friends that were there greeting her with open arms.
