A memorial mass for former Lamar and Wiley, Colorado resident currently of Las Animas, Colorado will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, September 13, 2019 at the St. Francis de Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Reverend Mariusz Wirkowski as celebrant. A rosary service will be held prior to the mass at 9:30AM with Maria Elena Gomez reciting. Inurnment will follow at the Wiley Cemetery.
Per Robert’s request cremation has taken place.
Robert was born on March 26, 1927 at Big Bend, Colorado to Refugio and Lorenza (Gallardo) Lucero and passed away on September 4, 2019 at the Bent County Memorial Nursing Home in Las Animas, Colorado at the age of 92.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Angela Lucero; children, Rita B. Lucero and James A. Lucero; his siblings, Refugio Lucero, Pauline Hernandez and Arthur Lucero and his grandchildren, Matt Meyer and Aimee Meyer.
Robert is survived by his grandchildren, Angela (Julian) Chairez of Wiley, CO, Barbara (Travis) Taylor of Council Bluffs, IA, Vanessa (Sal) Lucero-Banda and Mancini Lucero both of Fowler, CA, Kay Garcia of Pueblo, CO and Catherine (Jorge) Reyes of Lamar; longtime friend, Phyllis Faulk of Colorado Springs, CO as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Robert G. Lucero Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home office.
Services are under the direction of the Peacock Family.
