Reyes Casillas-Flores
A mass of Christian burial for longtime Granada resident Reyes Casillas-Flores was held at 10:00AM on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the St. Francis de Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic church with Reverend Mariusz Wirkowski as the celebrant. A rosary service was held prior to the mass at the church at 9:30AM with Deacon Allan Medina reciting. Interment followed at Hillside Cemetery in Granada, Colorado.
Visitation for Reyes was held on Friday, January 8, 2015 from 1:00PM until 5:00PM at the Peacock Family Chapel.
Reyes was born on January 5, 1931 at El Tepetate, Zacatecas, Mexico to Inez Casillas-Martinez and Maria Vasilisa Flores-Cansino and passed away on January 1, 2016 at his home in Granada at the age of 84.
He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Sylvia Teodora Moran; second wife, Molly Casillas; daughter, Martha Casillas; three infant children and his sibling, Socorro Valtierra.
Reyes is survived by his six children, Hilaria Quintana of Granada; Elisa De La Fuente of Oklahoma City, OK; Miguel Casillas of Mexico; Jose Reyes Casillas of Mexico; Damian Casillas of Mt. Vernon, SD and Adriana Casillas of Jane, MO; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Inez Casillas of Canon City, CO; Primitivo (Maria) Casillas-Flores of Lamar; Valentin (Petra) Casillas-Flores of Mexico; Enrique Casillas-Flores; Margarita (Vicente) Mendoza; Amparo (Fransico) Vasquez; Elisa Casillas and Eulalia Casillas all of Denver, CO as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and a host of friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Reyes Casillas-Flores Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home office.
