A private family memorial service for longtime Lamar resident, Rex Gibbons will be held at a later date.
Per Rex’s request cremation will take place and there will be no visitation.
Rex was born on May 29, 1928 at Walsh, Colorado to Clinton and Florence (Colyer) Gibbons and passed away on February 4, 2018 at his home in Lamar at the age of 89.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Fannie Burnett, Lena Marteney, Ross Gibbons and Lester Cridlebaugh and his half-sister, Arlene Lounsbury.
Rex is survived by his wife, Tiny Gibbons of the family home in Lamar; children, Connie Brase of Lamar and Leslie (Kathy) Gibbons of Ft. Meyers, FL; grandchildren, Yonda Leonard of Sheridan Lake, CO; Joanna (RC) Patterson of Kim, CO; Kayle (Tyler) Griffin of Guymon, OK; Michael Gibbons of Denver, CO and Samantha (Brian) Sandbothe of Garden City, KS as well as five great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Jennie Brown of Albuquerque, NM as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.
