Raymond L. Cook
A Service of Celebration for longtime Lamar resident Raymond L. Cook was held at 2 PM, Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at the Peacock Family Chapel with his son Raymond Cook of the Bridgeport, NE First Baptist Church officiating. Interment followed in the Veteran’s Section of Fairmount Cemetery with full Military Honors under the auspices of representatives of the United States Marine Corp, Lamar VFW Post #3621 and the Lamar American Legion Post #71.
Visitation for Raymond was held on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, from 1-5pm at the Peacock Chapel and Wednesday morning from 10am until the time of service.
Mr. Cook was born on August 26, 1924, at Garden City, KS to Clarence Carl and Frances Eugenia (Hendrix) Cook, and passed away at Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo, CO. on June 5, 2015 at the age of 90.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 69 years, Bonnie Jewell (Sharp) Cook; his children Raymond (Kathryn) Cook of Bridgeport, NE, Deborah (Billy) Polk and Tami (Richard) Jones all of Lamar. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 8 great great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his three brothers, Richard Cook, Francis “Frannie” Cook, and Lawrence Cook.
