Pauline Rice
A celebration of life for longtime Lamar resident, Pauline Rice was held at 10:00 on Friday, November 6, 2015 at the Lamar Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Lance Halford and Jack Martin co-officiating. Interment followed the service at 12:00PM at the Ft. Lyon National Cemetery.
Visitation for Pauline was held on Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 1:00PM until 7:00PM at the Peacock Family Chapel.
Pauline was born on June 19, 1928 at Laverne, Oklahoma to Paul C. and Edith M. (Curtis) DuVall and passed away on November 3, 2015 at her home in Lamar with her family by her side.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Rice; her parents; father and mother-in-law, J.L. and Ollie Rice, siblings, Isabel Martin, Mildred (Sam) Woolert and Curtis DuVall, granddaughter, Vashti Shultz; daughter-in-law, Linda Rice and sister-in-law, Freda DuVall.
Pauline is survived by her children, Paul Rice of Clinton, AK; Melva (Blaine) Cave of Lamar; Thomas (Marcia) Rice of Parachute, CO; Timothy Rice of Lamar and David (Terri) Rice of Grand Junction, CO, twenty two grandchildren and several step grandchildren; forty-six great grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Wilbur (Karen) DuVall of Texas; Frank (Maralyn) DuVall of Granada; sisters-in-law, Louise DuVall of Granada and Joyce Sturdy of Oklahoma; brothers-in-law, Earl Martin of Swink, J.D. (Naomi) Rice and Donald (Sybol) Rice both of Holly as well as numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws, as well as many friends and church brothers and sisters.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Pauline Rice Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home office.
