A Funeral Mass for Granada resident, Minnie E. Duarte was held at 10 AM, Friday, July 27, 2012 at St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church in Holly, Colorado with Reverend Charlie Sena as celebrant. A Rosary Service was held prior to the Mass at 9:30 AM also at the church.
A Rite of Committal followed at the Hillside Cemetery in Granada, Colorado.
Per Minnie’s request there was no public viewing.
Minnie was born on April 25, 1940 at Hartman, Colorado to Crestino and Grace (Salud) Ortiz and passed away on July 20, 2012 at her home in Granada with her family by her side. Minnie was 72.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Alec on November 15, 2008.
She is survived by her children Angelo Duarte of Denver, Amanda (Pete) Jimenez of Thornton, CO and Angela Duarte of Northglenn, CO. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Marcos Duarte, Andrea (Jordan) Rein, Gabriela Jimenez, Lindsay Jimenez as well as her siblings; Julia Burt of Tucson, AZ, Maria (Wilferdo) Bessé of Albuquerque, NM, Aniseta (Bill) French of Granada, Jose (Zora) Ortiz of Apache Junction, AZ and Teburcio (Irene) Ortiz of Florissant, CO. Numerous other relatives and many many friends also survive.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice or to the Granada Cemetery Improvement Fund either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
