Mildred L. Nidey
A service of celebration for longtime Lamar resident, Mildred L. Nidey was held at 10:00 AM Saturday February 1, 2014 at the Peacock Family Chapel in Lamar. Burial followed in the Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar.
Visitation for Mildred was held from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM and the family will be present from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday January 31, 2014 at the Peacock Family Chapel.
Mildred was born on April 15, 1929 in Lamar, Colorado to Lee Charles Carter and Esther Edith (Nettleton) Carter and departed this life on Sunday January 26, 2014 at her daughters home in Lamar at the age of 84.
Mildred is preceded in death by her parents; by her husband – Thomas V. Nidey; and by two sisters – Edith Brown and (Infant) EvaLee Carter.
Mildred is survived by one son – Keith (Debbie) Nidey of Lamar; three daughters – Wanda Garrett of Shallowater, TX; Shirley Chenoweth of Lamar; and Patsy (Paul) Wyly of Hereford, TX; by five grandchildren – Brad (Amy Cardinelli) Nidey of Hasty; Keith Eldon (Braunwyn Miller) Nidey of Lamar; Tammy (Jeff) VanBuren of Shallowater, TX; Amy (Reece) Spady of Lamar; and Trisha Garrett of Shallowater, TX; by fifteen great grandchildren – Brittney, Brandon, Taylan, Michael, Atlante, Aubrey, Christopher, Sheyenne, Heston, Allie, Jessica, Abi, Savannah, Torie, and Kaylee; by three great great grandchildren and by one sister – Ellen May Pullen of Bryan, TX; also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Prowers County Volunteer Fire Department either directly or through the funeral home office.
