Mike Harvey
A celebration of life for longtime Lamar resident, Mike Harvey, was held at 2:00 PM Thursday October 13, 2016 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Lamar with Pastor Harold Baldwin officiating. Full military honors are under the auspices of the local American Legion and VFW posts. Interment for Mike was held on Friday October 14, 2016 at 12:00 PM Central Time at the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Oberlin, Kansas.
Visitation for Mike was held from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM Noon Thursday at the Peacock Funeral Home.
Mike was born on July 30, 1945 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Jewel Marvin Harvey and departed this life on Monday October 10, 2016 at the St. Thomas More Hospital in Canon City, Colorado at the age of 71.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, by two sisters-Nadine and Loretta, by one brother-J.M. Harvey; and by two half siblings – Shirley Faye Brown and Jack Harvey.
Mike Harvey is survived by his wife Gail of the family home in Lamar; by three sons – Brian (Amy) Harvey of Dodge City, KS; Todd (Lisa) Harvey of Lamar; and Zeb Harvey of Oberlin, KS; by five grandchildren – Zach (Serina), Grace, Morgan, Reece, and Kasen as well as by several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
