Michael Keith Allen
Michael K. Allen, 68, of Lamar, Colorado passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, September 24, 2018. There will be no service at this time but a small gathering for family and friends will be held at a later date.
Michael was a longtime loving husband to his dearly departed wife for 31 years, together for 35. He was an amazingly strong, caring father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle. His love for his family and friends was immeasurable. His compassion to help another was limitless. He always was there to lend a hand, a shoulder or infinite wisdom. Michael was respectful, loving, dependable, trustworthy man who always fulfilled his obligations. We were all thankful to have him in our lives. He loved fishing, hiking camping, boating, golf and his Denver Broncos.
Michael was born on February 23, 1950 at Lamar, Colorado to Keith and Arleta B. (Branom) Allen and passed away on September 24, 2018 at his home in Lama.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Etta M. Allen; his father Keith Allen; grandmother; Zelda Branom and his brother; Kelly Allen.
Michael is survived by his three children, Chris (Liz) Allen of Arapahoe, CO, Shelley (Amanda) Allen of Rockvale, CO and Kevin (Sonya) Ortiz of Lamar, six grandchildren, Jonothan and Justin Ortiz, Ronan Allen, Dennis, Dakota and Ashely Miller and one great-grandchild, Logan Ortiz. He is also survived by his mother, Arleta Allen of McClave, siblings, Patrick Allen of Hartsel, CO, Cindy (Marty) Falconburg of Lamar, Sandy Halford of Corvallis, OR, Diana Tixier of Lamar, Scott Allen of McClave, CO and Jason Allen of Pueblo, CO as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.
Michael was drafted and proudly served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. His 1st order of business was to get himself a fancy new corvette.
