A Funeral Mass for longtime Kim resident Mary M. Maes was held at 6:30 PM on Monday, September 12, 2016 at the St. Francis de Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Reverend John Nwocha as celebrant . A rosary service was held prior to the Mass as the church at 6:00PM on Monday, September 12, 2016 with Deacon Allan Medina reciting.
A rite of committal graveside service for Mary was held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at the Kim Cemetery in Kim, Colorado with Reverend John Nkwocha as celebrant.
Visitation for Mary was held on Monday, September 12, 2016 from 11:00AM until 4:00PM at the Peacock Family Chapel.
Mary was born on December 12, 1928 at Troy, Colorado to Lee and Margaret (Gonzales) Lujan and passed away on September 8, 2016 at Southeast Colorado Hospital in Springfield, Colorado at the age of 87.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Maes, son Robert “Bobby” Maes, her parents and her siblings, Joe Lujan, Reuben Lujan and Felix Lujan.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Deb (Monte) Smith of Kim; grandchildren, Kallie (David) Gilbert of Riceboro, Georgia and Kolton Smith of Kuwait and great-grandchildren, Shelby and Kort. She is also survived by her siblings, Lee (Esther) Lujan of Grand Junction; Edward (Donna) Lujan of Loveland, CO; Theresa (Oney) Maestas of Kim, CO; Ermalinda (Jim) Rivera of Northglenn, CO and Toby (Cleo) Lujan of Englewood, CO as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kim Volunteer Fire Department and/or Southeast Colorado Hospital either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
