A graveside in-urnment service for former Lamar resident, Mary Carpenter was held at 1:00 PM Saturday December 1, 2012 at the Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar. Pastor Jim Murray officiated the service.
Per Mary’s request cremation has taken place and there was no public visitation.
Mary was born on October 31, 1937 to Clayton Herr and Itene Bower (Garber) Metzler in Holtwood, PA and departed this life on Saturday November 3, 2012 at the Westwind Campus of Care in Pueblo, CO at the age of 75.
Mary was preceded in death by her father and mother and by one sister Irene Livingood.
Mary is survived by her husband Homer Dean Carpenter of Pueblo; and by eight siblings – Clayton (Florence) Metzler of Willowstreet, PA; Blanche (Leroy) Church of Kirkwood, PA; Esther (Wayne) Toller of Walsenburg, CO; and Evelyn Metzler; Josephine Metzler; Pauline Metzler; Clare Ann Metzler; and John F. Metzler, all of Holtwood, PA; also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Gideon’s and Barkley College in Haviland, KS either directly or through the funeral home office.
