A come and go memorial luncheon for longtime Hasty resident, Marvin A. Appelhans, was held on Saturday November 10, 2012 at 11:30 AM at the Hasty Fire House in Hasty, Colorado.
Per Marvins request, cremation has taken place and there was no public visitation.
Marvin A. Appelhans was born on February 12, 1932 in St. Peter, Kansas to Andrew and Katherine (Gerstner) Appelhans and departed this life on November 6, 2012 at the Bent County Memorial Nursing Home in Las Animas at the age of 80.
Mr. Appelhans was preceded in death by his parents and by six brothers – Elmer, Eddie, Richard, Julius “Red”, Andy, and Eugene Appelhans.
Marvin is survived by two children – Richard (DeeAnn) Appelhans of Sharon Springs, KS and Colleen Piatt of Hasty; by four grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and by one sister – Olivia Lidwell along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and a host of friends.
The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Ark Valley Hospice either directly or through the funeral home office.
