Marilyn F. Eads
Marilyn was born June 14, 1924 to Ray and Ollie Clift in Mena, Arkansas. After graduating from Mena High School, Marilyn attended beauty school in Little Rock, Arkansas. She returned to Mena and opened the town’s first beauty salon, Clift’s Beauty Shop with her Aunt Gladys (Anderson) Geyer.
On May 13, 1945, she was united in marriage to Ray C. Eads in Mena, Arkansas. In 1947, Ray was asked by George Harris of Lamar, Colorado, to come to Lamar to work at the Texaco Station, so Ray and Marilyn set out from Arkansas to earn their fortune in Colorado. Marilyn worked for Barbara Jo Collier at her Beauty Salon in Lamar.
In 1949, Ray and Marilyn were richly blessed by the birth of their only child, a daughter, Becky. She was always Marilyn’s pride and joy. When Jim Jordan joined the family in 1969 as Becky’s husband, Marilyn loved him as if he were her own son.
Marilyn was a member of First Baptist Church in Lamar and worked tirelessly in different positions. Being a Sunday School Teacher was always the activity she enjoyed most.
When Marilyn’s grandchildren arrived, Shelley in 1974 and Abbey in 1979, she was elated and spoiled them as much as she possibly could. Her love for them was unending.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Eads, parents Ray and Ollie Clift; sister, Lillian G. Campbell; and her beloved daughter, Becky. She must be having a great reunion.
Marilyn is survived by her son-in-love, Jim (Michelle) Jordan of Springfield, CO; granddaughter Shelley (Wade) Key and children Courtney, Lucas and Kayleigh of Burleson, TX; and granddaughter, Abbey Jordan and children Sara, Anthony and Marcus of Lamar, CO.
Marilyn is also survived by her brother Ray (Orlene) Clift of Mena, AR; nephew, Randy (Debbie) Clift of Houston, TX; nieces, Tracy (Shane) McCullar of Russellville, AR, and Kay (Keith) Ramsey of Sheridan, AR, nephews Wayne (Connie) Campbell of Owasso, OK, Gerald Lovell, Jr. of Kensington, KS, nieces Debbie (John) Miles of Marion, IA, Tami (Mike) Horky of Kensington, KS, cousins Janis Shull of Mena, AR; Chrys Geyer of Colleyville, TX; and Christopher (Emily) Heisey of Colleyville, TX.
