She attended high school in Rawlins, Wyoming where she led the Outlaw band being drum majorette. This is where she met the love of her life, Edward James Wallace during her freshman year. After three years in the navy Edward decided it was time to return to Rawlins and make Marie his bride and partner for life on June 23,1947. Together they raised two daughters, Catherine Ann and Theresa Rose.

She obtained her real estate sales license and went to town satisfying the needs of soon to be new home owners. She continued this career well into her years until retirement.
Ed and Marie traveled to California and then to Florida before returning to her final resting place Lamar Colorado. Marie's family was at the top of her lists of things she loved along with golfing, gardening, painting, tap dancing and of course yodeling.
Her grandchildren called her their yodeling grandma...in fact the day before she passed she yodeled for her
caregivers...the final love of her life was her grandchildren and her three great grandchildren—she
attended their sporting events to cheer them on to victory. Marie passed away on August 12, 2013 at her home in Lamar with her family by her side at the age of 84.
