Lorene P. Lubbers
A celebration of life for lifelong Lamar resident, Lorene P. Lubbers will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the Peacock Family Chapel with Reverend Rory Gillespie officiating. Interment will follow in the Veteran’s Section of Fairmount Cemetery.
Visitation for Lorene will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016 from 3:00PM until 5:00PM at the Peacock Family Chapel.
Lorene was born on June 7, 1926 at Wiley, Colorado to Frank and Clara Emily (Rosebrough) Sturgon and passed away on May 1, 2016 at the Parkview Medical Center at the age of 89.
She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Frankie Lee; Charles Keith and Donna Lou and her brothers-in-law, Robert Lubbers and Charlie Dunham.
Lorene is survived by her husband, Wayne Lubbers of the family home in Lamar; children, Deb (Bill) Elam; Doug (Kathy) Lubbers, Paula Wood all of Lamar and Barry Lubbers of Amarillo, TX; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, R. Duane (Kathleen) Sturgon of Canon City, CO and Thomas Eugene “Sonny” (Alice) Sturgon of Pucket, MS, and her sister-in-law, Lucy Dunham as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and many friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
