A memorial service for lifetime Granada resident Leon W. Murray will be held at 10:00AM on Monday, February 15, 2016 at the Peacock Family Chapel with Reverend Kathy Leathers of the Granada United Methodist Church officiating. Inurnment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Granada.
Per Leon’s request cremation will take place and there will be no visitation.
Leon was born on September 29, 1935 at Granada, Colorado to Hugh Cornelius and Nellie Belle (Bivens) Murray and passed away on February 9, 2016 at his home in Granada at the age of 80.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Lyndon Wagner and seven siblings.
Leon is survived by his wife Margaret Ann Murray of the family home in Granada, two daughters, Lanette (Tom) Wagner of Holly and Joy Jean (Malcom) Schnabel of Ft. Morgan, CO and four grandchildren, Joshua, Landi, Kyle and Shawn. He is also survived by his five great-grandchildren, Eleora, Casen, Seth, Camden and Asher; sister, Marilyn Coates of Lamar as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and a host of friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Granada United Methodist Church either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
