A Celebration of Life for longtime Lamar resident, Lela Centner was held at 2:00 PM, Monday, March 4, 2013 at the Peacock Funeral Home with Ian Blacker of the Lamar Christian Church officiating. Interment followed at Fairmount Cemetery.
Visitation for Mrs. Centner ws held from 9:00 AM until service time Monday at the funeral home.
Lela was born on February 1, 1923 at Bent County, Colorado to Arnold, Sr. and Rosie Jane (Moss) Orr and departed this life at her home with her family by her side on February 28, 2013 at the age of 90.
She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Pamela J. “Pam” Williams; sons-in-law Jim Geisen and John Williams; sister, Irene Brookhart and her brothers; James Orr and Arnold Orr, Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years Lee Centner of the family home; son Rex (Sheri) Centner of Wiley and a daughter Charlotte Geisen of Gilbert, AZ. Lela is also survived by her grandchildren; Matt (Adrienne) Centner of Pueblo West, Jim (Denise) Geisen of Chandler, AZ, Denneen (Joe) McMurray of Canyon Country, CA as well as 6 great grandsons numerous nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and many friends.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
