Lee Evans
A graveside celebration of life for longtime Lamar resident Lee Evans will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, April 6, 2018 at the Fairview Cemetery in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado. A memorial service will be held at 3:00PM on Friday, April 6, 2018 at the Lamar Christian Church with Ian Blacker officiating. A time of fellowship will follow for family and friends.
Visitation for Lee will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 1:00PM until 7:00PM at the Peacock Family Chapel. The family will greet friends from 5:00PM until 7:00PM.
Lee was born on September 14, 1923 at Nash, Oklahoma to Levi “Sonny” and Ivy (Crain) Evans and passed away on March 31, 2018 at his home in Lamar at the age of 94 with his family by his side.
He is preceded in death by his wife, June Evans; his son, Rodney Evans and his parents.
Lee is survived by his daughter, Kay (Norm) Arends of Lamar; grandchildren, Scott Arends of Longmont, CO, Kami (Jim) Schauer of Longmont, CO and Angie (Brett) Havenstein of Lamar and great-grandchildren, Ethan Arends, Hannah, Natalie and Ella Schauer, Claire and Joanna Havenstein. He is also survived by his brother, Clinton (Wilma) Evans of Tonkawa, OK and a sister-in-law, Obera Hipsher as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice and/or Lamar Christian Church either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
