Kenneth Dale Richardson
A mass of Christian burial for former Bristol, Colorado resident currently of Pueblo, Colorado, Kenneth D. Richardson will be held at 10:00AM on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at the St. Francis de Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Reverend Leonardo Ayuyao’s.s.s. as celebrant. A rosary service will be held prior to the mass at 9:30AM at the church with Deacon Allan Medina reciting. Interment will follow at the Holly Cemetery in Holly, Colorado.
Visitation for Kenneth will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 from 1:00PM until 4:00PM at the Peacock Family Chapel.
Kenneth Dale Richardson died Saturday October 21st, 2023 in his home in Pueblo, Colorado. Ken was born to Helen and Frank Richardson on July 28th, 1958 and had six siblings, older siblings Myra Hafics, James Richardson, Carolyn Burns, Cathie Parks, Judy Heinemann and younger sister Linda Richardson. Ken had three sons, Kenneth “Austin” Richardson, Weston Dale Richardson and Blair Daniel Richardson.
Ken grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan and showed a strong interest in sports at a very early age, especially in baseball. At the age of 10 years old Ken began getting noticed for his amazing athletic talent and was often in the Ann Arbor Newspaper. He was particularly noted for his pitching talent and in high school, while playing for Huron High, he was recruited by the Detroit Tigers and began playing on their farm team right after graduation in 1976. He unfortunately suffered a career-ending knee injury his first year but went on to play baseball in college at Southern Colorado University.
Ken was a business owner and a hard worker from a young age and operated a restaurant, sports memorabilia shop and a sprinkler company. He enjoyed people and was known for chatting with all of his customers and getting to know them.
Ken and wife Guadalupe “Lupe” were happily married for 21 years prior to his death. Lupe worked alongside Ken in his business and he often spoke about his success being due to her assistance. Ken loved to hunt, fish, work and he loved his family.
He is preceded in death by his son Blair Daniel Richardson, his parents and siblings, Myra Hafics, James Richardson, Carolyn Burns, Cathie Parks and Linda Richardson.
Ken is survived by his wife Lupe of Pueblo, CO, his sons Austin and Weston of Pueblo, CO and his sister Judy Heinemann of Mount Vernon, WA as well as numerous nephews and nieces whom he loved like his children. He will be missed.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kenneth Richardson Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home office.
