Kenneth W. Dawson
A Celebration of Life for longtime Granada resident, Ken “KW” Dawson was held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at the Peacock Family Chapel with Reverend Kathy Leathers of the Granada United Methodist Church officiating. Interment with full military honors under the auspices of the Lamar VFW, Post #3621 was held at the Hillside Cemetery in Granada, Colorado.
Visitation for Ken was held on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
KW was born on February 11, 1926 at Ford, Kansas to Guy Everett and Flora Ethyl (Feebeck) Dawson and passed away at his home in Granada with his family by his side on Friday, August 1, 2014 at the age of 88.
Mr. Dawson is preceded in death by his first wife Dorothy R. Dawson, parents, his sister Helen Sheldon and three brothers; Wilbur, Herbert and Donald Dawson.
He is survived by his wife Lucille Dawson of the family home in Granada, daughter; Deborah E. Harn of Walsh, CO, two grandchildren; Kendra R. (Robert) Fickes of Lake Stevens, WA, Octavia A. (Jordan) Benson of Oklahoma City, OK and a great grandson; Edward Kenneth Fickes. Ken is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives including three sisters-in-law; Benita Martin, Thelma Dawson and Verity Martin, as well as a host of friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lamar Area Hospice or to the charity of one’s choice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
