A graveside service for longtime Big Bend resident, Joyce E. Sanders, were held at 10:00 AM Tuesday September 6, 2016 at the Wiley Cemetery in Wiley, Colorado.
Per the family’s request there was no public visitation.
Joyce was born on May 13, 1933 in Aline, OK to William Simpkins and Edith Ryel-Simpkins and departed this life on Saturday September 3, 2016 at her home in Big Bend, CO with her family by her side at the age of 83.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; by three granddaughters – Loretta Mata; Cindy Aldrich; and Robyn Jimenez; by two daughters-in-law – Ellen Sanders and Jeany Sanders; and by four brothers – Lee Simpkins; Wilbur Simpkins; Lawrence Simpkins; and Blair Simpkins.
Joyce is survived by her husband – Clyde Sanders of the family home; three children – Keith Sanders of Wiley; Sylvia (David) LaCost of Lamar; and Alan Sanders of Wiley; by 12 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren; and by one sister – Willa Worley of Sheridan, WY; also surviving are numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Lamar Area Hospice either directly or through the funeral home office.
