A funeral service for Miller, Missouri resident, Josey Ray Smotherman, will be held at 10:00 AM Friday December 8, 2017 at the Peacock Funeral Chapel with Bon May officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar.
Per the family’s request there will be no public visitation.
Josey was born on January 4, 1997 at Rifle, CO to Bill and Nancy (Perkins) Smotherman and departed this life unexpectedly on Friday December 1, 2017 in Missouri at the age of 20.
Josey was preceded in death by his mother Nancy Smotherman and by his maternal and paternal grandfathers.
Josey is survived by his father – Bill Smotherman of the family home in Miller, MO; brothers Dustin (Tana) Pearson and Chris (Yasmin) Pearson of Lamar; nieces and nephews – Caleb, Kevin, James, Avelina, Hailey, Kiera, and Nathaniel; by his maternal grandmother – Betty Perkins and his paternal grandmother – Nadine Hays as well as by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and a host of friends.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Josey Smotherman memorial fund in care of the funeral home office.
