A graveside memorial service for former Lamar residents, currently of Canon City, Colorado, John and Phyllis Pierson was held at 11:00AM on Friday, November 11, 2016 at the Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar with Reverend Robin Riley of the Wiley United Methodist Church officiating. Military Honors for John V. Pierson were under the auspices of the local VFW and American Legion Posts.
John was born on September 21, 1924 and passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2016 with dignity and honor surrounded by his loving children and care givers at Bruce McCandless Veterans Home in Florence CO.

He is preceded in death by his brothers; Paul Pierson of Lamar and Carl “Mike” Pierson of Wiley, CO.
Phyllis was born on April 8, 1929 and passed gently on May 24, 2016 at St Thomas Moore Hospital in Canon City CO.

She is preceded in death by her brothers; Robert Scott of Kansas and Edson Winfield Scott (Joe) of California.
John and Phyllis also had two infant daughters Jennifer and Leslie Pierson who passed.
They celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary in March 2016, together in life and now for eternity.

They are survived by their daughter, Lynette Pierson-Webb, grandchildren, Leisa Web; Amy (Chris) Webb, Aaron (Nicole) Webb and Ryan (Brandy) McMullen; 12 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild all of the Canon City area or Fremont County. John is also survived by his 2 older sisters, Virginia Brase of Lamar and Verna Robinson of Pueblo; two sister in-laws, Ileta and Marilyn Pierson as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services are under the direction of the Peacock Family.
