Joe Choat
A celebration of life for lifetime Granada resident, Joe Choat was held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at the Granada United Methodist Church with Reverend Kathy Leathers officiating. In honoring Joe’s wishes following the services at the church cremation will take place and there will be a private family interment of the ashes at a later date.
Visitation for Joe was held on Monday, September 21, 2015 from 1:00PM until 7:00PM at the Peacock Family Chapel.
Joe was born on January 15, 1931 at Granada, Colorado to Joseph E. and Anna (Bayse) Choat and passed away on September 16, 2015 at Parkview Medical Center at the age of 84.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Wilbur Choat; Joan Thompson and Jean Osborn.
Joe is survived by his wife, Dixie Choat of the family home in Granada; children, Chris (Deb) Choat of Granada; Craig (Dorothy) Choat of Lamar ; grandchildren, Trevor (Mendi); Becky (Ty); Haley (Daniel); Ryan and Sheridan; great-grandchildren, Emma; Alex; Chelsea; Tallie; Abbie; Emmie and Riley; and a great-great-granddaughter; Sophia. He is also survived by his brother, A.J. (Betty Lou) Choat of Lamar as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Granada United Methodist Church either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
