Jim Obholz
A celebration of life for longtime Lamar resident, Jim Obholz, was held at 10:00AM on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at the Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Lance Halford and Ian Blacker co-officiating. Interment followed with Full Military Honors under the auspices of the local V.F.W. and American Legion Posts at Fairmount Cemetery in the Veteran’s Section.
Visitation for Jim was held on Friday, May 13, 2016 from 1:00PM until 5:00PM at the Peacock Family Chapel.
Jim was born on April 22, 1936 at Dodge City, Kansas to Peter James and Pearle M. (Henderson) Obholz and passed away on May 9, 2016 with his loving wife by his side at his home in Lamar at the age of 80.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Pearle Obholz and one sister, Rise Julian Obholz.
Jim is survived by his wife, Sharon Obholz of the family home in Lamar; children, Daniel Roy (Debbie) Obholz of Longview, TX, Gina Renee (Frank) Tague of Lamar; Heidi Lee (Jay) Babb of Dade City, FL and April Janee (Brian) Bergeler of Denver; twelve grandchildren, Jennifer (Kevin) Stavely, Jill (Blaine) Finto, Kelsey (Kolby) Palmer, Ashley (Kenan) Gooden, Joshua (Amy) Obholz, Caleb (Leslie) Obholz, Audrey (Matt) Menadier, Nathan Obholz, Jerome Obholz, Cody (Heather) Babb, Cole Babb and Clay Babb. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Payton, Madison, Kytan, Kyce, Uriah, Ezra, Ana and Ethan and his siblings, Dave (Grace) Obholz of Summerfield, FL, Marlene (Wes) Underwood of Dodge City, KS and Geneva (Don) Slease of Lubbock, TX as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.
