James S. Bellomy
A celebration of life memorial service for longtime Lamar, Colorado resident, James S. Bellomy will be held at 10:00AM on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at the Lamar Christian Church with Ian Blacker officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Fairmount Cemetery in the Veteran’s Section under the auspices of the local V.F.W.
Per James’ request, cremation will take place and there will be no visitation.
James was born on June 3, 1933 at Holly, Colorado to John R. and Bertha V. (Hochstedler) Bellomy and passed away on June 22, 2019 at his home in Lamar with his family by his side at the age of 86.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister and brother-in-law, Leota (Herman) Stagner.
James is survived by his wife, Lena Bellomy of the family home in Lamar; children, Rhonda (Mark) Tevis of Olympia, WA, Brenda (Kim) McGee of Brighton, CO, Jim (Cheryl) Bellomy of Sierra Vista, AZ and Janet (Scott) Muller of Sterling, CO. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, twelve step grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Prowers County Rural Volunteer Fire Department either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
Services are under the direction of the Peacock Family.
