James “Chief” Kimble
A Rosary service for Lamar resident; James Kimble, affectionately known to his family and friends as Chief was held at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at St. Francis De Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Deacon Allan Medina reciting. A Funeral Mass was held at 10:00 AM., Wednesday, October 22, 2014 also at the church with Reverend Charlie Sena as celebrant. Interment followed at the Fairmount cemetery in the Veteran’s Section under the auspices of the Lamar V.F.W. Post #3621 and the American Legion Post #71.
Visitation for James was held on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the Peacock Funeral Home.
James was born on March 15, 1924 at Houck, Arizona to Charlie and Mary (James) Kimble and passed away on October 16, 2014 at his home in Lamar at the age of 90 with his family by his side.
He is preceded in death by his wife; Martha Kimble, parents, son; Richard Kimble, granddaughters; Michelle Kimble and Patricia Orozco, grandson; Frank Granados, Jr. and his siblings; Tom, George, Leo, and Norman Kimble as well as May Tso, Louise Francisco, and Sarah Kimble-Arthur.
James is survived by his children; Ramona (Ray) Orozco, Mary Ellen Kimble all of Lamar, Gloria Kimble of Pueblo, CO and Rosa Kimble of Lubbock, TX, 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother; Roger (Wilamena) Nelson of Ft. Defiance, AZ as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the James Kimble Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home office.
