A mass of Christian burial for longtime Lamar resident, Irene A. Phillip's will be held at 10:00AM, Saturday, August 4, 2018 at the St. Francis de Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Reverend Henry Wertin as celebrant. A Rite of Committal will follow at the Holly Cemetery.
Per Mrs. Phillip's request there will be no visitation.
Irene was born on February 26, 1923 at Oakley, Kansas to Arch P. and Anna Maggie (Goodchuck) Urie and passed away at Lamar Estates on August 1, 2018 at the age of 95 with her family by her side.
She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Sylvester Lee Lester II and her second husband, Kenneth L. Phillip's. She is also preceded by her siblings, Archie Urie, Albert Urie, Lawrence Urie, Fred Urie and Emma Miller and two sons-in-law, Chester "Al" A. Green, Jr. and John L. Smith.
Irene is survived by her children; Anita Green of Oak Creek, CO, Lee (Vickie) Lester III of Buena Vista, CO, Cynthia Kasza of Lamar, CO, Patricia (Mike) Woelk of Cape Girardeau, MO and Linda (Richard Jara) Smith of Lamar, CO. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.
In memory of Irene Phillips, the family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Irene A. Phillips Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home office.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Peacock Family.
