A Mass of Christian burial for longtime Lamar resident, Herminia Esquivel, was held at 10:00 AM Thursday, October 4, 2012 at St. Frances de Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Charles Sena as celebrant. A rosary service was held prior to the mass at 9:30 AM with Deacon Allan Medina.
Visitation for Herminia was held from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at the Peacock Family Chapel in Lamar.
Herminia was born on April 24, 1949 at Tepyak, Coah, Mexico to Sigifredo and Petra (Ontiveros) Davila and passed away on September 30, 2012 at her home in Lamar with her family by her side at the age of 63.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her daughter; Mirta Liliana Mendoza.
Herminia is survived by her husband; Rogelio Esquivel of the family home in Lamar, children; Rogelio (Lucinda) Esquivel, Jr., Sigifredo Esquivel, Liz (Benjamin) Rubio and Benita Adan all of Lamar, thirteen grandchildren and her siblings; Edwardo Davila and Aurelio Davila both of Coahuila, Mexico. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.
