A Celebration of Life for longtime McClave resident, Hazel A. Piatt was held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the Lamar Christian Church with Ian Blacker officiating.
Interment followed at the Fairmount Cemetery.
Visitation for Mrs. Piatt was held on Friday, November 2, 2012 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Peacock Funeral Home.
Hazel was born on September 28, 1919 at Edna, Kansas, to Ramie and Elizabeth (Foxworthy) Lirley and passed away on October 31, 2012 at Prowers Medical Center at the age of 93.
She is preceded in death by her husband Laurence Piatt, her parents and her son Charlie Piatt as well as 7 siblings.
Mrs. Piatt is survived by her two daughters; Kathy Walker and Mary (Mitch) Cass all of McClave, her son Alvin (Marie) Piatt of Austin, TX as well as her 7 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren,15great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving is her daughter-in-law Colleen Piatt of Hasty, CO, three sisters; Alice (Cliff) Stuart of Las Animas, CO, Opal (Mervin) Cyr of Great Bend, KS and Pat Schlotz of Mound Valley, KS as well as numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Southeast Colorado Cancer Initiative direct or in care of the funeral home office.
