Howard Larry Doyle
Graveside memorial services for longtime Lamar resident Howard Larry Doyle will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at the Fairmount Cemetery, Veteran’s Section with Kathy Leathers officiating. Full Military honors will be under the auspices of our local VFW and American Legion.
Per Larry’s request cremation has taken place and there will be no public visitation.
Mr. Doyle was born on May 13, 1947 at Las Animas to Donald Delbert and Elsie Esther (Tiedt) Doyle and passed away on August 21, 2018 at the age 71.
Larry graduated from McClave High School and went on to attend college at Lamar Junior College. He also served in the US Army during Vietnam receiving the Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze Service Stars. After returning home Larry worked as a brick layer and rancher.
He is preceded in death by his father.
Larry is survived by his wife Linda Doyle of the family home in Lamar, sons; Michael Brody Doyle of Lamar, Howard Dustin Doyle of Lamar and Heath Lyndon Doyle of Clovis, CA, Step children; Tammi (Richard) Whisennand of Lamar, Dustin (Summer) Owen of Brush, CO, his mother, Elsie Esther Doyle of Caddoa, CO. He is also survived by his sister Cathy (Murk) Smitherman of Madison, Georgia and brother Delbert (Terry) Doyle of Madera, CA. as well as his grandchildren; Dylan Michael Nickelson, Heather Ann Doyle, Nathan Glen Doyle, Brock James Murphy, Reannon Marie Whisennand, 3 nephews, one niece, 5 grand nieces and nephews.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Lamar VFW direct or in care of the funeral home office.
