County resident, Grace Best will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 7, 2009 at the
Lamar
First
Baptist
Church with Reverend David Davis officiating. Interment will follow at the
Fairmount
Cemetery.
Visitation for Grace will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 5:00 PM, Friday, February 6, 2009 at the Peacock Funeral Home.
Ms. Best was born August 16, 1907 at the homestead 6 miles west of Lamar to Marian Simeon and Laura Belle (Smith) Davidson and departed this life on January 26, 2009 at the
Applewood
Living
Center in
Longmont, Colorado at the age of 101.
She is preceded in death by her husband Lewis Best, infant son Donald Keith Best, daughter Marlene Best Gamble and her son Eldon Best.
Grace is survived by her daughter Patsy (Bobby) Briskey of
Longmont, CO, son Jerry (Ruby) Best. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren as well as her nieces and nephews; Maxine (Willard) Kasza, Jackie (Merlin) Rife, Ruby (Chris) Wilde, June Miles, Nellyne (Ray) McFarland, Ferril (Francis) Davidson and Charlie (Dorothy) Marriott.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Association in care of the Peacock Funeral Home.
