Gerald “Jerry” D. Dyess
A memorial mass of Christian burial for longtime Lamar resident, Gerald D. Dyess, affectionately known to his family and friends as Jerry will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at the St. Francis de Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Reverend Mariusz Wirkowski as celebrant. A rosary service will be held prior to the mass at 9:30AM at the church with Deacon Allan Medina reciting. Inurnment will follow at the Fairmount Cemetery.
Per Jerry’s request cremation will take place and there will be no visitation.
Jerry was born on June 3, 1943 at Brighton, Colorado to Lonnie V. and Bertha M. (Klausner) Dyess and passed away on November 27, 2018 at his home in Lamar with his family by his side at the age of 75.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Edward, Carl, Kenneth and infant sister, Brenda.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Mary Dyess of the family home in Lamar; children, Jarrod (Karla) Dyess of Broken Arrow, OK, LeAnn (Christian) Pardo of Tampa, FL, Janine (Scott) Reed of Lamar and Lorene Jameson of Pueblo West, CO and grandchildren, Kelsee, Krista, Kenna, Braxton, Brenna, Jacob, Abbie, Evan, Morgan, Bailee, Luke and Kyle. He is also survived by his siblings, Kathleen Busking, Marilyn (Ed) Conlin, Linda McCraken, Barbara (Rick) Beaver, Josephine Nelson, Charles (Julie) Dyess, Carolyn Dever, Helen Hays, Sylvia (Mike) Bailey and Edith Olson as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
Services are under the direction of the Peacock Family.
