A memorial service for longtime Lamar resident, Gene Gourley, will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at the Lamar Christian Church with Ian Blacker officiating.
Per Gene’s request cremation will take place and there will be no visitation.
Gene was born on May 3, 1934 at Lycan, Colorado to Monte Robert and Fannie McCord (Flanagan) Gourley and passed away on September 25, 2017 in Castle Rock, Colorado at the age of 83.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Harold Gourley and Don Gourley.
Gene is survived by his wife, Susan Gourley of the family home in Lamar, two daughters, Judy Fagnan of Dallas, TX and Cheryl (A.J.) Amaya of Castle Rock, CO and his grandchildren, Brooke, Chase and Taylor Shellberg, Jean Luc Fagnan, Aaron, Xander and Addi Jene Amaya and Ashtyn (Kenneth) Dellamaestra. He is also survived by his siblings, James Robert (Mary May) Gourley of Two Buttes, Betty Jo Bryan of Walsh and Gwen Fisher of Walsh and his sister-in-law, Olene Gourley as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Pregnancy Crisis Center and/or Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
Services are under the direction of the Peacock Family.
