Frances “Kika” Judson
November 11, 1938 – January 18, 2017
A Celebration of Life for former Granada resident Frances “Kika” Judson was held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Peacock Family Chapel with Pastor Ian Blacker officiating. Inurnment followed at Hillside Cemetery in Granada with a family reception held at the Granada Civic Center.
Frances "Kika" Judson was born on November 11, 1938 to John and Felicitas (Guerrero) Granados in Lamar, Colorado and passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at the age of 78 surrounded by her loving family. She was one of thirteen children. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Freddie Granados and Richard “Dicky” Granados; and granddaughter Emily Jai Gallegos.
Kika owned and operated VIP hair salon in Granada, Colorado before relocating her salon to Wichita, Kansas. She was a member of Word of Life - MAC Church in Wichita.
She enjoyed reading, crafting, Hot Air Ballooning, fellowshipping with family and friends and cheering for her beloved Denver Broncos and Wichita State Shockers.
Per Kika’s request cremation has taken place and there was no visitation.
She is survived by her husband, Ray Judson Jr., her children Carol Gallegos and Deanna “Deedee” (TJ) Will-Gallegos all of Wichita, KS; Anthony (Penny) Gallegos of San Antonio, TX; Bryan (Paula) Gallegos of Dickinson, ND, and Billy (Hope) Gallegos of Denver, CO.
Kika is also survived by siblings Martin (Belle) Granados; Manuel (Delores) Granados; Monico (Nancy) Granados; and Teresa Gonzales all of Lamar; Rebecca Baca, Gloria Granados, and Frank Granados all of Wichita, KS; Jennie (Felipe) Ortiz of Granada, CO; Mary (Tom) Sandoval of Garden Plain, KS; Margie (Jose) Carrasco of Presidio, TX; ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society on her behalf.
