Frances A. Benabides
A Rosary service for lifelong Lamar resident; Frances A. Benabides was held at 7:00 PM, Sunday, September 1, 2013 at St. Frances De Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Robert and Dolores Fernandez reciting. A Funeral Mass was held at 10:00 AM., Monday, September 2, 2013 also at the church with Reverend Charlie Sena as celebrant. Interment followed at the Hartman cemetery.
Visitation for Frances was held on Sunday, September 1, 2013 from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the Peacock Funeral Home.
Frances was born on February 28, 1934 at Granada, Colorado to Jess and Fernanda (Adame) Fernandez and passed away on August 28, 2013 at her home in Lamar with her family by her side at the age of 79.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister; Florence Flores, two infant sisters, two sons; Ralph Fernandez and Gilbert Banuelos and two great-grandchildren; Dylan and Cylas.
Frances is survived by her husband; George Benabides of the family home in Lamar, children; Barbara (Joe) Castro of Lakewood, CO, Anthony (Carmen) Benabides, Sylvia (Andrew Hernandez) Benabides all of Pueblo, Robert (Toni) Benabides of Lakewood, CO, Liz (Kevin) Appel of Lamar, Delores (Dan) Medina and Frank Ortiz all of Pueblo, eighteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings; Robert (Dolores) Fernandez of Brighton, CO, Joe (Kathleen) Fernandez of Penn Valley, CA, Tony (Virginia) Fernandez of Lamar, Steve (Betty) Fernandez of Windsor, CO, Rose Fernandez of Lakewood, CO, Emma (Alfonzo) Gonzales of Turlock, CA, Mary Upham of Jacksonville, FL, Virginia (Manuel) Herrera of Greeley, CO, Valerie Fernandez of Loveland, CO, Alice (Joe) Baca, Josie (Raul) Dominguez all of Lamar, Angela (Theodore) Herrera of Greeley, CO and Peggy Dennis of Hartman as well as numerous other relatives and many friends.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
