A mass of Christian burial for longtime Lamar resident, Federico A. Zavala will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, November 3, 2017 at the St. Francis de Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Reverend Mariusz Wirkowski as celebrant. A rosary service will be held prior to the mass at the church at 9:30AM with Rita Ybarra reciting. Interment will follow at the Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the Peacock Family Chapel from 1:00PM until 5:00PM.
Federico was born on September 30, 1944 at La Villa, Texas to Manuel and Celia A. (Altanirano) Zavala and passed away on October 24, 2017 at the Swedish Medical Center in Denver at the age of 73.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Leucrettia G. Zavala, his parents; siblings, Clemente Zavala and Manuel A. Zavala, brother-in-law, Jesus Del Santos and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Zavala.
Federico is survived by his wife, Hester Zavala of Lamar, children, Federico T. (Sandra) Zavala of Abernathy, TX, Ruben T. (Leslie) Zavala of Springfield, CO, Pilar A. Zavala, David T. (Anita) Zavala, Joe T. (Misty) Zavala and Venetta K. Zavala all of Lamar, nineteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Beatrice Del Santos of Raymondville, TX, Ruben A. Zavala of Amarillo, TX and Inez A. Zavala of Lamar as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Federico A. Zavala Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home office.
Services are under the direction of the Peacock Family.
