Esther E. Sniff
A Celebration of Life for longtime Lamar resident Esther E. Sniff was held at 2:00 PM Monday, August 12, 2013 at the Lamar First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Rory Gillespie officiating. Interment followed in the Veteran’s Section of Fairmount Cemetery.
Visitation for Mrs. Sniff was held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon on Saturday August 10, and from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday, August 11, 2013 at the Peacock Funeral Home.
Esther was born on January 22, 1925 at Lamar, Colorado to James Q. and Iva Marguerite (McKitrick) Ellenberger and passed away at the age of 88 at the Holly Nursing Care Center on August 6, 2013.
She is preceded in death by her husband Elmer S. “Doc” Sniff on February 22, 2009; her son Neil E. Sniff on February 2, 2013; and by one sister Marjory Tiffany on June 18, 2009; as well as her parents.
Esther is survived by her son Clay (Dee) Sniff of Lamar and daughter Leslie (Lea) Sniff-Treat of Greeley, CO. Also surviving are her 3 grandchildren; Heather (Matthew) Krombholz, Natalie (Todd) Dudley and Collin Sniff, 5 great grandchildren; Emma, James and Greta Krombholz, and Harper and Quinn Dudley as well as her siblings; Rhea (Burton) Vickers of Canon City, CO, and James (Marie) Ellenberger of Lamar. Numerous other relatives including her sisters-in-law; Darlene Sniff of Hasty and Floy Christopher of Sterling, CO and a host of friends also survive.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Lamar Area Hospice or to the Lamar First Presbyterian Church either direct or in care of the Peacock Funeral Home.
