Elmer B. Gruenloh
A Mass of Christian Burial for lifetime Lamar resident, Elmer B. Gruenloh, was held at 10:00 AM Monday November 4, 2013 at the St. Francis de Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Lamar with Father Charles Sena as Celebrant. Burial followed in the Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar. Full Military Honors was conducted by the Lamar V.F.W. Post # 3621.
A rosary service was held at 6:00 PM Sunday November 3, 2013 also at the St. Francis de Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church led by Steven Injoalu.
Visitation for Elmer was held from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday at the Peacock Family Chapel and prior to the rosary and Mass at the church.
Elmer was born on November 12, 1918 in Florissant, MO to John A. Gruenloh and Catherine (Toebben) Gruenloh and departed this life on Sunday October 27, 2013 at the Holly Nursing Care Center in Holly, Colorado at the age of 94.
Elmer was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers – Arthur Gruenloh and John Gruenloh and by one nephew – James Gruenloh.
Elmer Gruenloh is survived by one nephew – Robert Gruenloh of Lamar; by one niece – Mary Ann Pittman of Boulder; by seven great nieces and nephews – Marvin (Alisha) Gruenloh of Lamar; Gail (Marvin) Koeller of Sheridan Lake, CO; Gwen (Bob) Krum of Lamar; Terri (Dell) Hendricks of Tioga, TX; Bev (Brian) Wurst of Lamar; Shirley (Russ) Anderson of Lamar; and Earle Pittman of Boulder; by one niece-in-law – Elvira Gruenloh; and by 13 great-great nieces, and nephews; along with a host of Elmer’s V.F.W. friends.
