 A celebration of life for longtime McClave, Colorado resident, Edna Wertz will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, August 2, 2024 at the Peacock Family Chapel with Pastor Darren Stroh of the Lamar First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Union Valley Cemetery in Hasty, Colorado. 

 Edna was born on October 9, 1933 in Illinois to William Sherman and Mary Jane (Jameson) Reed and passed away on July 25, 2024 at the Prowers Medical Center in Lamar, Colorado at the age of 90 with her family by her side.

 She is preceded in death by her son Steven Ray Wertz, son-in-law David Snyder, granddaughter Leah Snyder, her parents and seven siblings.

 Edna is survived by her husband of 72 years, Ivon Wertz of the family home in McClave, CO, children Stanley (Connie) Wertz of Lamar, CO, Rhonda Snyder and Brent (ZuElla) Wertz all of McClave, CO, daughter-in-law Barbara Wertz of McClave, CO, fifteen grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren with one on the way. She is also survived by her siblings Bill Reed of Quinter, KS, Oty Reed and Ruth Haldeman both of Dallas Center, IA as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.
